Celebrate Christ the King Task Force News

The Celebrate Christ the King Task Force is charged with leading the congregation through the process of discovering and defining our mission and vision to the point of the Church Council appointing a Call Committee to seek a new Senior Pastor.  See below for more information about that process.  Members include: Tricia Bill, Evelyn Cannon, Jerry Cox, Sean Daley, Dottie D’Angelo Smith,  Austin Hecht, Paul Kaeser, Nori Riley, Ken Santiago, Matt Zurn, Pastor Salness, and Pastor Sherry. 

Celebrate Christ the King with Prayer every Thursday at 4:24 pm!

The Celebrate Christ the King Task Force invites everyone in the church, from the youngest to the oldest, to take a moment once a week on Thursdays at 4:24 p.m. to pray for our church.  Ask God for guidance, direction, patience and wisdom for each of us and for our congregation as we move forward in these days and weeks and months together.  Why do we pray together at 4:24 pm no matter where we may be?  Because we are guided and strengthened when the people of God respond in prayer together as exemplified in Acts 4:24:       

"When they heard it, they raised their voices together to God and said, 'Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth, the seas and everything in them. . . .' "  (Acts 4:24)

The Celebrate Christ the King Task Force is charged with leading the congregation through the process of discovering and defining our mission and vision to the point of the Church Council appointing a Call Committee to seek a new Senior Pastor. For those of whom do not know me, I am Austin Hecht, the youth member on the Task Force. 

On May 18 we started our visioning process and have made considerable progress. In this past meeting we also began meeting with the recently appointed Call Committee as they are in the process of being briefed on their assignments. Later the Task Force will begin the process of coming up with questions for the benefit of the Call Committee during the search process. We are also working on our mission site profile. We have also come up with our scriptural foundation.  It is Proverbs 3:5-6:

 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
       and lean not on your own understanding;

  in all your ways acknowledge him,
       and he will make your paths straight.
