This article gives information about LPM: The Leadership Program for Musicians, a continuing education program for pastors, church musicians and anyone interested in music and liturgy in the church.

LPM: The Leadership Program for Musicians
Christ the King has long supported music in the church. LPM is a continuing education program for pastors, church musicians, and anyone interested in music and liturgy in the church. Pastoral concerns, spiritual formation and practical skills for church musicians are all part of the training. LPM seeks to “empower musical leaders in churches to lead worship that is vibrant and participatory.” It supports both traditional and contemporary worship.

LPM is a joint project of ELCA Lutherans, Episcopalians, Presbyterian Association of Musicians and the United Church of Christ Musicians Association.  John Marsh serves as Chair of the National LPM board, and has taught for and coordinated local LPM programs in Texas and Atlanta. LPM in the greater
Atlanta area has been offered since fall 2008.  For more information, click here for a brochure about the LPM program across the country, or go to the LPM website.  Scholarships are offered for participants in local LPM programs, and for those taking coordinator training.  All scholarship information can be found on the LPM website.

Stay in touch with LPM! Go to the website and send a message to Anna Leppert-Largent, Consultant-Coordinator.  She'll make certain you are kept up to date on all LPM happenings. A quarterly Enewsletter, LPM Happenings, is sent to the mailing list.

You may also find LPM on Facebook (
facebook.com).  This discussion group is for anyone who wants to learn more about how LPM can help you become a more confident and capable leader of music in your church, as well as anyone who wants to encourage them. LPM was originally designed for those serving "small" congregations, but it has something to offer musicians in all settings.

You may support the ministry of the Leadership Program for Musicians by starting on the LPM website (
www.lpm-online.org
) and clicking on the Amazon link (homepage) to go to the Amazon website. You will be supporting LPM in an easy and painless way and help insure its future for others.
