Norcross Cooperative Ministry is a multi-congregation ministry that provides food, clothing, small household items, English classes, employment and financial counseling and other assistance to needy families who reside in Norcross. Christ the King assists with food and clothing drives. Volunteers are needed to sort clothing, stock food items, talk to persons in need, and work in the office. Cathy Freeman is the Coordinator.  Contact the church office for more information, or go directly to the Norcross Cooperative Ministry Website.

Pray for the NCM Board, staff, and volunteers as we face new challenges this year with the increase of client requests and uncertainty concerning our resources.

Simple Ways That You Can Help

Family Promise

Family Promise

Making an Impact
One Family at a Time!

Christ the King is a Family Promise host congregation for three weeks during the summer to carefully screened homeless families who need assistance finding stable employment and housing through Family Promise of Gwinnett, Inc. As a host, we provide overnight lodging, meals (supper, breakfast, sack lunch) and hospitality for 3-4 families for one week (5pm-7am) on a rotating basis with 14-16 other churches.  Volunteers provide and serve meals, host overnight, play with the children, and set up and take down beds. Joanie Doorley provides an excellent orientation and guidance so that both hosts and families enjoy a positive experience.  Contact her at 404-790-3001 or joandoorley@aol.com.

Now’s the time to mark your calendars as Christ the King will host families during the weeks beginning June 21st, July 19th, and August 9th.  Many of us are joining forces to make sure we have another successful summer hosting and helping families in need.  More information and opportunities to volunteer will follow soon, so think about how you can contribute to this wonderful ministry.  Will you be an evening host, an overnight host, or provide a meal?  Perhaps you prefer setting up the rooms for our guests or helping put everything away at the end of the week?  We need your support, so watch for more news and ways to help!
