Norcross Cooperative Ministry
Norcross Cooperative Ministry is a multi-congregation ministry that provides food, clothing, small household items, English classes, employment and financial counseling and other assistance to needy families who reside in Norcross. Christ the King assists with food and clothing drives. Volunteers are needed to sort clothing, stock food items, talk to persons in need, and work in the office. Cathy Freeman is the Coordinator. Contact the church office for more information, or go directly to the Norcross Cooperative Ministry Website.
Pray for the NCM Board, staff, and volunteers as we face new challenges this year with the increase of client requests and uncertainty concerning our resources. There is a particular need now for English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) teachers for Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Contact the Co-op at 770-263-0013 if you can volunteer.
Simple Ways That You Can Help
|
|
Do you knit, crochet, or do other types of hand work? Knitting for the Needs of Others (KNO) meets the second and fourth Sunday of the month at 2:30 p. m. We create baby blankets for baptisms for Norcross Cooperative Ministry (NCM), scarves for NCM and the children’s closet, newborn hats for the Women’s Assistance League of Atlanta, and prayer shawls for members who are facing difficult illnesses. It is a very therapeutic time as we sit and work, have fellowship, and do God’s work. Come join us. We resume meeting on Sunday, September 12th. For more information, contact Cathy Freeman at 678-427-1341, or freemancat@att.net.

Making an Impact
One Family at a Time!
|
Christ the King is a Family Promise host congregation for three weeks during the summer to carefully screened homeless families who need assistance finding stable employment and housing through Family Promise of Gwinnett, Inc. As a host, we provide overnight lodging, meals (supper, breakfast, sack lunch) and hospitality for 3-4 families for one week (5pm-7am) on a rotating basis with 14-16 other churches. Volunteers provide and serve meals, host overnight, play with the children, and set up and take down beds. The Family Promise Coordinators provide an excellent orientation and guidance so that both hosts and families enjoy a positive experience. Contact the church office at 770-449-1211 for more information.
