Christian Directed Singles Activities Calendar
Christian Directed Singles (CDS) of Christ the King Lutheran Church is a group open to age forty plus, and is comprised of single men and women of all denominations. Members get together to enjoy hiking, theater, sporting events, concerts, museums, singles dances, and much more. Consider joining us...we'd love to have you!!
Activities Scheduled for November:
Friday, November 21st 5:30 or 5:45 PM, Jazz Night at the High Museum - CDS and Perimeter Church singles will go to the High Museum to hear jazz provided by Gary Motley Quartet and see the last segment of the Louvre Atlanta exhibit, treasures from the Victoria & Albert London museum, & other exhibits. All Museum exhibits are open from 5 to 10 PM. Purchase $18 tickets at the door. The Chinese Terracotta Army exhibit is at no additional cost but does require a time reservation. Many of the slots sell out early. Call the High directly to arrange a time slot reservation (http://www.high.org, 404-733-4400). Saturday, December 6th 9:30 – 12:30, morning of volunteer service at Norcross Cooperative Ministries followed by an optional lunch in Norcross. NCM is an ecumenical ministry dedicated to providing emergency assistance to families in the City of Norcross and surrounding areas. It is supported by twenty local churches and numerous businesses, civic and social organizations, foundations, and individuals. See http://www.norcrossco-op.org for more info. Volunteer with CDS and / or contribute a gift for the Christmas "Toy Wish List", anything from baby dolls, toy trucks, to food gift cards. Call NCM or Sally for a complete list of ideas. Saturday, December 6th 6:00 PM, Dinner, Movie, Etc. at Roger and John’s Norcross home. Bring your favorite dish for the shared potluck dinner at 6. Video around 7:15. This month’s feature is The Family Stone, the 2005 city-folk-in-the-country-at-Christmas-time romantic comedy. Everett Stone, played by Dermot Mulroney, invites his love, big city successful business woman, Meredith, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, to spend the holidays with his mother, played by Dianne Keaton, and the rest of the family.
