Stephen Ministry Training: Since we began using the Stephen Ministry program at Christ the King, we have seen the great value of lay caring ministry. Another 50-hour training class for Stephen Ministers will be offered in September. Give serious consideration to this question: "Would my gifts and talents be put to good use as a Stephen Minister?" For further information and application materials, contact Bill Rightsell (404-925-8928).

Adult Classes:
See Through the Scriptures has been produced to provide hands on training. It is designed to serve as a tool to convince people that we need to read the Bible, we can understand the Bible’s message, and that we can explain the messages to others. If people are to make sense out of the Bible three things are important: We need to know the biblical storyline ( narrative analysis), we need to know the themes that weave their way through that story-line (narrative theology) and we need to see what Jesus does with the biblical storyline and its themes.
When Jesus explained to the two disciples on the way to Emmaus the things about Himself in Luke’s Gospel, He did so on the basis of “Moses and all the prophets,” namely Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Hosea though Malachi. We pray that See Through the Scriptures will whet our appetites’ to become biblical bloodhounds – people who will saturate themselves in the scriptures and ask constantly, “What does this mean? What is it saying to me and to God’s people?"
Please join us on Sundays June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th in Room 143 at 9:55 a.m.
